The best young skaters in Lombok flock from as far as Praya and Sengiggi to compete in the annual skate competition “Gerupuk Skate Classic” held in Surfcamp Lombok’s skate bowl.

Since the first competition in 2013, it has grown to become a prestigious event amongst the local youth, with prizes from sponsors including Billabong, 69 Slam, Nord and Pool Skateshop in Mataram.

The event is divided into six categories; Girls, Under 14 Boys, Open, Best Slam, Best Surfstyle and Best trick; and the youngsters are seen practicing all afternoon for weeks in anticipation of the big day.

We sent our photographer Didik Hariyadi to capture some of the action and the competitors did not disappoint. After a fun day of events; the organisers, competitors and spectators all left with big smiles and happy hearts.
